2011 Yellow Jackets Holiday Invitational

This past Saturday was the Yellow Jacket Holiday Invitational!  The meet was held at Yellow Jacket Gym in Middleton, MA.  Sophia and her teammates were slated to start out on vault!  Sophia did 2 nice looking vaults and scored 8.750 for a 4th place finish (the judges were really tough on vault today!)!  Next up - bars!  Sophia did a beautiful bar routine (I recorded it and will post it here!) and scored a 9.250 for a 2nd place medal!  She then moved on to beam!  This meet's beam routine was absolutely fabulous - she looked great and scored herself a 9.350 to take 1st place!  Unfortunately, I did not record it but I did get pictures!  Finally, she went to floor!  Not quite sure what was going through her head but she didn't do her best floor routine - scored a 8.725 for a 4th place finish!  Overall, Sophia scored 36.075 for the intermediate age group and took home the 1st place trophy!  I will take a picture of this cool looking trophy to post here for everyone to see!!  Sophia's teammates had a pretty good meet as well and the team took home the 2nd place trophy!!  The next meet will be the Kids Celebrate Life Classic in January!  This meet is in honor of one of the MA judges that passed away and all proceeds will be donated to American Cancer Society, the Children’s Miracle Network and the Massachusetts High School National Gymnastics Team!  The following link will take you to the YJ Holiday Invitational Meet results - Click on Holiday Invitational Level 5! http://www.yellowjacketsgym.org/scores_results.html
